They spend their lives cleaning up after us, drying our tears, giving us sound advice and generally making sure we get through life without too many hiccups, so the least that we can do is make sure our mums have a fabulous Mother’s Day! For just one day a year our mums take centre stage and get the day of recognition that they deserve (even though they never accept the compliments we give them!). Since I moved away from home four years ago, I’ve been a pretty poor daughter on Mother’s day, so this year I’m determined to make it up to her and give her the most relaxing day she’s had in years. Thankfully, working at Superbreak has given me plenty of ideas on how I can spoil my mum, so I thought I’d share the best of what we have to offer to help make sure that your mum has a special day too.
Spa breaks are a fab way of making sure your mum has a brilliant day, but it also means that you can enjoy it too! We’re lucky enough to sell some of the most luxurious hotels from all around the UK, so there are plenty of options wherever you live in Britain. For my Mother’s day spa break this year I’ve been eyeing up 3* The Parsonage in York. Their packages start from only £99pp and include full use of the spa, a 40 minute beauty treatment and even afternoon tea on arrival. I think I really need a manicure, so this definitely an option!
Dinner deals are always a great way of making a short break a little extra special. Head of on a girly two night break with your mum and you can enjoy a free evening meal on the first night of your stay, and from as little as £65pp! It doesn’t just have to be a girls-only break either – why not go as a family and make the Mother’s Day weekend even more enjoyable? Our Mother’s Day dinner deals are available throughout the UK, so whether you want somewhere close to home or an adventure in some unknown city, we’ve got something to make it perfect.
Mother’s Day or not, a trip to the theatre is always a good way to treat your mum! And, as if by fate, we have some of the most amazing performances showing around Mother’s Day, including Great Expectations, Burn the Floor and Jersey Boys. All of these shows are sure to get your mum up and dancing in the aisles making for a memorable short break in London.
Maybe it’s my Yorkshire roots, but I’m not sure there’s anything more perfect than the idea of a Hotel & Afternoon Tea break! Whether it’s a fancy, champagne tea at Harrods or a simple cuppa and a slice of cake in the country, taking mum away on a break like this is destined to be a winner. Hotels all around the country offer afternoon tea during your stay, but one that’s really caught my eye is the 3* Craiglands Hotel in Ilkley. This stunning Victorian property sits in beautiful countryside and guests receive afternoon tea on arrival plus a glass of sparkling wine. It ticks all my boxes!
If for any reason you can’t get away for Mother’s Day, why not treat your mum to some of our Superbreak gift vouchers? They come in denominations of £5-100 and can be spent on anything we sell. This way, mum gets to choose exactly what she wants and she doesn’t miss out on her special day (even if it is later on in the year).
What have you got planned for Mother’s Day 2013? Make sure you treat your mum!
